I'm Don. PR guy by day, AARP gamer by night — I've been putting that in my own bio for years, so it may as well be on the front door. I'm 50-plus, I play Call of Duty at a level that annoys people half my age, and I have no plans to stop.

I run Ranked Resurgence most nights with the Crm$n Kats and call the action for the Nexus COD League — and as of this season I handle PR & Strategic Partnerships for Nexus Gaming, the launchpad behind the league. By day I run The PR Bunker (prbunker.com), a Boston PR shop, so I've done comms from every side of the table. Twenty-five years of getting people to say the right thing under pressure turns out to be decent training for a broadcast booth, a brand conversation, and for telling three grown men where the gas is.

The Nexus COD League runs an Elders division — 38 and over, ID verified, experience over youth. If you’ve still got it and you’ve also got a mortgage, that’s the division.

I cover it, I stream it, and I write the squad report for people who don’t have six hours a night to test guns. Reflexes fade. Comms, positioning and knowing when not to push don’t.

Under 500 Challengers Pro Points. No U18 CDL finalists, no CDL-era pros.

New Format

Groups of eight. Play everyone in your group once, then seed into division playoffs. Shorter season, more that matters.

Prize Pool

$2,000 guaranteed, up to $4,000. Pro $1,000–2,000 · Elders $600–1,200 · Amateur $400–800.

Kept Honest

Random PC scans and security checks through a Detect.AC partnership. The Mid-Season Tournament returns.
